TEAM proud to support local snowmobile trail system
Like our sign? We do too! Not only does this mean one of the trails around Becker County, MN, will be graced with the presence of the TEAM logo at its side all winter long, but it also means that TEAM Industries is financially supporting the maintenance of snowmobile trails in our area. TEAM has been a business member of Minnesota United Snowmobilers Association for several years now, but this season we decided to step our support up another notch and sponsor one of the trails maintained by ULTRA Snowmobile Club.
A little bit about ULTRA’s efforts in taking care of area trails from the club itself:
The United Lakes & Trail Riders Association (ULTRA Snowmobile Club) has been a part of the community for over 20 years, but our past experience has never included grooming the snowmobile trails. The actual trail grooming in Becker County has always been a responsibility taken on by Becker County. UTLRA has always provided the leadership, coordination, and volunteer support for the trail system.
The results of the ULTRA club membership and the partnership with the county have produced one of the best trail systems in the State and put Detroit Lakes on the map as a great vacation destination for snowmobile enthusiast.
Not only do these world class trails provide a great family recreation opportunity in our community, they bring visitors to Detroit Lakes that have a high disposable income to spend at your business!!!!
Changes in county leadership have created a change in the way the trail systems will be maintained and groomed. This past summer, ULTRA has taken on the grooming responsibility for 102 miles of snowmobile trails around the Detroit Lakes area. To get this done, ULTRA has made an enormous financial decision to purchase a John Deere Track Groomer along with a piece of equipment obtained from the county. The grant monies from the State generated from snowmobile registration and trail permits will now be routed to ULTRA rather than Becker County. However, this funding source will not cover all of the expenses we will incur to continue making our trail system second to none.
Congratulations, ULTRA, on your new responsibilities! We wish you the best of luck, and are proud of the opportunity to support your efforts!
