How do you change the helix in a TEAM clutch?

Just remove the four fasteners (eight in a TSS-98) in the back of the clutch and bang the clutch post on a piece of wood.  The helix should fall out.

My vehicle is not pulling RPM? What should I do?

First, make sure your motor is running right.  A fouled plug or other problem will make a machine run low on RPM.  The second thing to check is your belt.  A shot belt will not let the CVT system work properly.  If you are trying a new clutching combination, adjust in this order: Drive clutch gram weight, Drive clutch spring, Driven clutch helix angle, Driven clutch spring.

I’m blowing belts.  How do I fix that?

Improper clutch alignment is the first thing to look for.  Check initial alignment with an alignment bar.  Broken motor mounts can affect alignment under power.  Try to move the motor with a pry bar.  If it moves more than a quarter inch or so, you will blow belts.  Clutch setup can cause belts to blow, too.  Many times it is low gram weight or too much spring that causes heat and thus, reduced belt life.  Finally, a cheap belt will not last like a higher quality belt.  OEM belts generally are the best for higher horsepower applications.

What is the biggest improvement I will see with a TEAM roller clutch?

Backshift.  TEAM clutches backshift much faster than a button clutch.  The reduced friction in a TEAM clutch also translates to more precise tuning and better response to changing conditions.
